Hotspot of the Week: The Curious Little Playhouse
Hotspot of the Week: The Curious Little Playhouse
The Curious Little Playhouse in downtown York is unlike any play center for children I have experienced before. No video games or screens just “true play.”It opened in April 2019 and has instantly become a fixture in downtown York. The Playhouse Founder, Jenn Swanner, is passionate about providing a fun and safe play place for kiddos and building the York community.
What is The Curious Little Playhouse?
It is a safe place for kiddos to come together, play, and let their imaginations take over. The Curious Little Playhouse has multiple stations for kids to put their imaginations to work. For those of you who have preschool and young elementary school children, you understand how much kiddos love their stations! The many stations include a castle, dress-up area, school, grocery store (complete with a real scanner!), and arts and crafts. Check out the pictures below for a sneak peek.
Affordable and Accessible
The Curious Little Playhouse is open all week long, excluding major holidays. The play prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other indoor play options. You can pay by the day or purchase a one-month, three-month, or twelve-month membership. The Curious Little Playhouse also has daily specials to make the experience even more affordable. Birthday Parties and Events
The Curious Little Playhouse is a great place to host your next birthday party or event. You pick the theme (think superhero, fairies, and cowboys, or create your own) and the package. They will even bring the birthday party to you, or you can rent the entire playhouse for a birthday party or event. The Curious Little Playhouse is also a great place to hold your next field trip.
The Curious Little Playhouse also hosts special events. They range from Kid’s Paint Night to Playdough or Lego parties. They also offer First Friday playcare. Parents get to enjoy First Friday from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM while the kiddos, ages 2 – 12, enjoy the Playhouse under the supervision of state-certified caretakers. Check their website for new events.
Stop In
Stop in and check out this great downtown York business. I guarantee you will be won over by the friendly and caring staff and nostalgic atmosphere. The Curious Little Playhouse takes you back to your childhood before screens, tablets, and smartphones ruled the world of kiddos’ play. Your kids will love playing school with “old school” (pun intended) desks or grocery store with a real scanner or dressing up as a knight and storming the castle.
